COA 2013: Preserving-remnant minimizes tibial tunnel enlargement in ACL reconstruction .
The effect of remnant preservation on tibial tunnel enlargement in ACL reconstruction with hamstring autograft: a prospective randomized controlled trial
62 patients who underwent single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with a quadrupled hamstring tendon autograft were randomized in this study to determine the effectiveness of preserving remnants in reducing tibial tunnel enlargement. The results of this study suggested that preserving the remnants during surgery can prevent tibial tunnel enlargement, but this had no effect on the Lysholm score or KT-1000 outcomes.
