2013 8th International Congress of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association : A randomized controlled trial comparing Trumatch instrument to conventional instrument in total knee arthroplasty

47 osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) were randomized to evaluate the efficacy of custom-made Trumatch instruments (TMT) against conventional instruments (CON) in achieving bone cuts. The evidence presented in this study demonstrated that the 2 groups performed comparably in terms of operative and tourniquet time. Additionally the TMT group achieved greater accuracy in component positioning. Further research using large sample sizes is warranted to validate these findings.
