Clinical prediction of insightful response to a single large dose of LSD
Vol. 10 Iss. 11 | June 2022 | Number 34 Psychopharmacologia. 1966 11-Apr;():. 10.1007/BF00408333Study Summary
Twenty psychiatric inpatients received an intravenous injection of 2.5ug/kg of LSD, and 12 of these patients received an intravenous injection of methamphetamine on another testing day. The Bender-Gestalt Test and Jarvik Questionnaire were given prior to the drug sessions, and at the maximal effects if the drugs, as well as recordings of the patient for verbal productivity. Jarvik test scores and Bender Gestalt increased significantly more in the LSD group when compared to the methamphetamine group. LSD responders also showed more insightful responses than LSD non-responders, and were seen more often in patients with psychopathic personalities.
