No difference between double-high insert and medial-pivot insert in TKA

OE Journal. 2014;2(10):3 Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2014 Mar;22(3):576-80. doi: 10.1007/s00167-012-2314-x.40 patients undergoing ADVANCE total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either a double-high or a medial-pivot insert in order to compare clinical outcomes. Midterm follow-up results at 4-5 years post-surgery revealed improvements in clinical outcomes within each group. However, no significant differences between inserts were observed with respect to KSS, KSFS, UCLA activity scores, pain, stability, range of motion, extension, flexion, or radiographic mechanical axis. No complications or revision surgeries were reported.
