Chiropractic manipulative therapy and low-level laser therapy in the management of cervical facet dysfunction: a randomized controlled study
J Manipulative Physiol Ther. 2011 Mar-Apr;34(3):153-63. doi: 10.1016/j.jmpt.2011.02.01060 patients were randomized to assess the short-term effect of chiropractic manipulation therapy (CMT) and low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on pain and cervical range of motion (ROM) for cervical facet dysfunction. Patients received either CMT, LLLT, or a combination of both procedures for 3 weeks (6 treatments total each). The assessment at 4 weeks revealed that the all 3 groups experienced significant improvement in pain and cervical ROM. However, the combination of CMT and LLLT led to better improvements compared to either of the procedures on their own.
