Delta Ceramic-on-Alumina Ceramic Articulation in Primary THA: Prospective, Randomized FDA-IDE Study and Retrieval Analysis
Clin Orthop Relat Res. 2010 Feb;468(2):367-74.109 patients (>18 years old) with moderately symptomatic degenerative joint disease were randomized to undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA) with either a ceramic-on-ceramic (COC) or a cermamic-on-polyethylene (COP) articulation. At 26 month follow up, there were no clinically significant differences between the two bearing surfaces in terms of functional hip scores, radiographic migration, and osteolysis.
