Similar survival between screw cementless and cemented tibial components in young patients with osteoarthritis
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2014 Jul;22(7):1585-9093 younger patients (ie <55 years) undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty were randomized to either cemented or cementless fixation of the tibial component. In cementless fixation, screw augmentation was used. Patients were followed for an average of 7 years postoperatively for clinical and radiological outcome. Cementless fixation was observed to improve clinical outcome compared to cemented fixation, while radiological outcome and implant survivorship was similar between groups.
