Efficacy of celecoxib, meloxicam and paracetamol in elderly Kashin-Beck disease (KBD) patients

Epub 2010 Jun 13168 elderly patients were randomized to examine the efficacy of celecoxib, meloxicam, and paracetamol in treating symptoms of late Kashin-Beck disease. Patients received a six week course of celecoxib 200 mg once daily, meloxicam 7.5 mg once daily or paracetamol 300 mg three times daily. Results revealed that all three treatments were effective in relieving pain throughout the course of 6 weeks; however, none of the drugs improved overall physical function.
