Cannulated screw fixation and plate fixation for displaced intra-articular calcaneus fracture: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Int J Surg. 2016 Oct;34:64-72Five randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing cannulated screw fixation and plate fixation of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures. Clinical outcomes, radiographic outcomes, operative time, and complication rates were compared. Results demonstrated no significant differences in clinical or radiographic outcomes between the two types of fixation. Cannulated screw fixation demonstrated a significantly shorter operative time and lower incidence of complications compared to plate fixation.
