Displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures: 15-Year follow-up of a randomised controlled trial of conservative versus operative treatment

OE Journal. 2013;1(11):340 Injury. 2007 Jul;38(7):848-55. Epub 2007 Apr 1856 patients with displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures were randomized (in the initial study completed in 1993 with a 1 year follow up) to either receive operative treatment or conservative treatment. The results at the 15 year long-term follow up period of this study revealed no longer term differences between both groups with respect to the functional and radiological outcomes.
