Treatment of Chronic Radial Epicondylitis with Botulinum Toxin A: A Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Randomized Multicenter Study
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2007 Feb;89(2):255-60.132 patients with radial epicondylitis/tennis elbow were randomized to either receive an injection of botulinum toxin A into the forearm extensor muscles, or a placebo, to determine whether one treatment is superior to the other. The results indicated that an injection of botulinum toxin A was beneficial in improving the symptoms of patients with radial epicondylitis. Patients treated with botulinum toxin A displayed significant improvements in all outcome measurements.
