Absorbable Versus Nonabsorbable Sutures for the Arthroscopic Treatment of Anterior Shoulder Instability in Athletes: A Prospective Randomized Study
Arthroscopy. 2008 Jun;24(6):697-703. Epub 2008 Feb 2050 athletes were randomized to compare the functional results of arthroscopic treatment for anterior shoulder instability. Patients were treated with anchors loaded with either absorbable or non-absorbable sutures and were assessed at the minimum follow-up period of 24 months. Results revealed that functional outcomes were not influenced by the type of sutures used for the treatment of anterior shoulder instability.
