Six randomized controlled trials including 593 patients with full-thickness rotator cuff tears were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) with bone marrow channeling versus ARCR alone. Pooled outcomes of interest included function, pain, retear rates, and reoperation rates. The pooled analysis showed no significant differences in functional outcomes, pain relief, or retear and reoperation rates between the two groups. The results of this study suggest that bone marrow channeling does not provide additional benefits in the healing or functional recovery in the context of arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
