Comparison of clinical outcomes after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with hamstring tendon autograft versus soft-tissue allograft: A meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials

Eight randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis which compared functional outcome and knee laxity measures between soft-tissues allografts and hamstring tendon autografts in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Significantly poorer results were observed for allografts versus hamstring autografts in pooled analyses of IKDC subjective score, Tegner activity scale, and instrumented anteroposterior knee laxity. No significant differences between graft choices were observed in pooled analyses of Lysholm scores, pivot-shift test, anterior drawer test, or Lachman test.
