Comparison of above elbow and below elbow immobilisation for conservative treatment of distal end radius fracture in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
Chin J Traumatol . 2023 Jul;26(4):204-210.Six randomized controlled trials including 515 patients with distal end radius fractures were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing the effect of above- and below-elbow immobilization on radiographical and functional outcomes. Outcomes of interest included Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) scores, radial height, radial inclination, palmar tilt, and ulnar variance. No differences were reported between the two cast immobilization groups for all outcomes.
