Dr. Darabos speaks about the use of autologous conditioned serum to reduce bone tunnel enlargement following ACL reconstruction.

62 patients were randomized to examine whether the intraarticular administration of autologous conditioned plasma (ACS) could affect postoperative outcome from anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. Patients received either 2 mL of autologous conditioned serum or 2 mL of saline and were assessed after 12 months. Results indicated that there were significant differences in favour of the autologous conditioned serum treatment regarding the reduction in bone tunnel enlargement and improvement of WOMAC stiffness.
