Arthroscopic vs. Fluoroscopic ORIF for Distal Radius Fracture .
Arthroscopic-assisted versus fluoroscopic-assisted open reduction and internal fixation for distal radius fracture: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Medicine (Baltimore) . 2025 Feb 7;104(6):e41434.Five randomized controlled trials including 340 patients with intra-articular distal radius fractures were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing AAORIF vs. FAORIF. Pooled outcomes of interest included wrist range of motion (flexion, extension, pronation, supination), DASH scores, VAS pain scores, operative time, and complication rates. AAORIF showed significantly improved wrist extension, lower DASH scores, and lower VAS scores. No significant differences were found in flexion, pronation, supination, operative time, or complications. These findings suggest that AAORIF may provide superior functional and pain outcomes without additional risks.
