Arthroscopic Versus Open Dorsal Ganglion Excision: A Prospective, Randomized Comparison of Rates of Recurrence and of Residual Pain
J Hand Surg Am. 2008 Apr;33(4):471-5.72 patients with primary, simple dorsal ganglion (DG) were randomized to surgical excision performed with either an open or arthroscopic approach, to compare ganglion recurrence rates between the procedures. Following evaluations over a 1-year period, results indicated that no significant difference in ganglion recurrence rates exists between the two groups.
