Platelet-Rich Plasma as a Treatment For Patellar Tendinopathy: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial
10 patients were randomized to evaluate the efficacy of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for the treatment of patellar tendinopathy. In this double-blinded trial, patients received either dry needling and eccentric exercise (control) or dry needling with PRP and eccentric exercise. When assessed after 12 weeks, PRP treatment led to clinically significant improvement in activity, function and stability, pain, and symptoms when compared to the control group.
