Ankle Instability: Stabilization Exercises Using Sonic Balance Pad on Proprioception and Balance .
Effects of Ankle Stabilization Exercises Using Sonic Balance Pad on Proprioception and Balance in Subjects with Ankle Instability.
Healthcare (Basel) . 2023 Sep 14;11(18):2544.Thirty patients with ankle instability were randomized to receive a 4-week ankle stabilization exercise using a sonic balance pad (n=15) or a standard balance pad (n=15). The primary outcome of interest was the improvement in proprioception and dynamic balance ability. Secondary outcomes included improvements in static balance and long jump performance. Outcomes were assessed before and after the 4-week intervention period. Overall, the results of the study revealed significant improvements in proprioception and dynamic balance in the sonic balance pad group compared to the control group. The study suggests that the use of sonic balance pads in ankle stabilization exercises provides superior outcomes in improving balance and proprioception in individuals with ankle instability.
