50 patients, between the ages of 18 and 70 years with distal radial fractures were included in this one year study to determine the effect of Allomatrix Injectable Putty on clinical function in radial fractures managed by reduction and fixation with K-wires. Patients were randomized to receive the Allomatrix graft or no graft at all, and were assessed using the disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand questionnaire and radiological and clinical outcomes. Although the AlloMatrix Injectable putty was effective in treating radius fractures, it did not enhance the functional recovery, fracture stability or bone density compared to the no graft group.
