All-arthroscopic versus mini-open double row rotator cuff repair - A prospective randomised control study based on functional and radiological outcomes.

Sixty patients with rotator cuff tears were randomized to receive either all-arthroscopic double-row repair (n=30) or mini-open double-row repair (n=30). The primary outcome was functional improvement assessed by the UCLA Shoulder Score. Secondary outcomes included the Oxford Shoulder Score, range of motion, radiological healing using Sugaya grading, and re-tear rates. Outcomes were assessed at six months and one year. Overall, the results of the study revealed that the all-arthroscopic group had significantly better functional outcomes, although radiological integrity showed no difference. The study concludes that all-arthroscopic repair provides superior short-term functional results compared with mini-open repair without radiological differences.
