Review Article: Patient-specific versus standard instrumentation for total knee arthroplasty
J Orthop Surg (Hong Kong). 2015 Apr;23(1):100-6.This meta-analysis identified 12 randomized trials that compared patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) and standard instrumentation in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Results indicated but no significant difference for outliers in hip-knee-ankle (HKA) alignment, outliers in tibial coronal alignment, or operative time. Meta-analysis of coronal femoral component alignment noted a significantly lower rate of "outliers" among PSI groups compared to conventional instrumentation groups.
