A double blind, randomized, placebo controlled clinical study evaluates the early efficacy of aflapin in subjects with osteoarthritis of knee

60 patients were randomized to investigate the effect of Alfapin supplementation in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. In the 30-day trial, patients were randomized to receive either Alfapin 50mg twice daily or placebo, and were followed-up with assessments of pain, stiffness, and physical function. Serum, urine, and hematological characteristics were also assessed for safety analysis. The results at 30 days indicated that pain, stiffness, and function were significantly improved with Alfapin, and that differences in improvement were observed as early as 5 days after commencing supplementation. Furthermore, laboratory tests indicated serum, urine and hematological properties remained within normal ranges.
