Additive effects of low-level laser therapy with exercise on subacromial syndrome: a randomised, double-blind, controlled trial
Clin Rheumatol. 2011 Oct;30(10):1341-6. doi: 10.1007/s10067-011-1757-7. Epub 2011 May 480 patients suffering from subacromial syndrome were randomized to determine the efficacy of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) as an additive therapeutic measure to physical therapy. Patients were allocated to receive a 10-session, 2-week physical exercise program combined with either LLLT or sham-LLLT treatment. The results demonstrated that the addition of LLLT significantly improved pain and range of motion of the shoulder compared to the physical therapy alone.
