Nine randomized controlled trials (644 patients) comparing the use of hyaluronic sodium acid plus acupotomy versus hyaluronic sodium acid alone were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The primary outcome of interest was clinical effectiveness. Secondary outcomes were pain on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Lysholm scores. All outcomes favored the acupotomy plus hyaluronic acid group.
