Effects of active scapular correction on cervical range of motion, pain, and pressure pain threshold in patients with chronic neck pain and depressed scapula: a randomized controlled trial
J Man Manip Ther . 2022 May 19;1-8.Twenty-eight patients who were diagnosed with chronic neck pain with a depressed scapula were randomized to either the active scapular correction group (n=14) or control (n=14). The outcomes of this trial were to assess cervical range of motion, neck pain with cervical rotation, and pressure pain threshold (PPT) over the upper trapezius muscle between the two study arms. The results of this trial showed better pain and cervical range of motion immediately post-intervention in the intervention group.
