Acellular Collagen Matrix Patch Augmentation of Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair Reduces Re-Tear Rates: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Control Trials.
Arthroscopy . 2024 Mar;40(3):941-946.Five randomized controlled trials including 307 patients with rotator cuff tears were included in this meta-analysis comparing ACMP augmentation versus no augmentation in ARCR. Pooled outcomes of interest included re-tear rates, Constant score, and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score. The results showed a significant reduction in re-tear rates and improvements in Constant and ASES scores with ACMP augmentation. The findings suggest that ACMP augmentation is effective in reducing re-tear rates and enhancing functional outcomes in ARCR.
