OE Journal. 2014;2(24):7 J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2014 Oct 1;96(19):1621-3081 patients who underwent open reduction and internal fixation with a volar plate for an isolated distal radius fracture were randomized to either an accelerated or standard rehabilitation protocol. Clinical outcomes within the first 6 months were compared. Results indicated that the accelerated cohort had significantly lower disability scores and increased wrist flexion/extension and forearm supination at 3 months postoperatively.
