Comparing Surgical Repair to Conservative Treatment and Subacromial Decompression for the Treatment of Rotator Cuff Tears: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Trials
Five randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing the outcomes of surgical repair and either subacromial decompression or conservative treatment. Meta-analysis of functional outcome scores demonstrated significantly favourable results of repair compared to both subacromial decompression alone or conservative treatment.
