2018 AAOS Annual Meeting: Platelet-Rich Plasma Incorporated Autologous Bone Improves Outcome for Patients with Posttraumatic Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head: A Comparative Study

OE Journal. 2018;6(7):1130 patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head were randomized to core decompression completed with either a platelet-rich plasma incorporated autologous bone graft, or an autologous bone graft alone. Patients were assessed for clinical and radiographic results over a 36-month follow-up. Success rates for both clinical and radiographic outcomes were significantly higher among the PRP-incorporated ABG group compared to the ABG alone group.
