Is Cervical Bracing Necessary After Single and Multi-Level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion? A Prospective Randomized Study
50 patients undergoing one- or two-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) were randomized to postoperative management with our without a rigid cervical collar for a period 6 weeks. Neck Disability Index (NDI), subsidence, and fusion outcomes were evaluated over a period of 24 months. There were no significant differences observed between groups for any of the outcomes assessed over the 24-month follow-up.
