2013 AAOS Annual Meeting: A Prospective Randomized Study Comparing One versus Two Injections for Stenosing Tenosynovitis

OE Journal. 2013;1(3):30101 patients with stenosing tenosynovitis (trigger finger) symptoms were randomized to receive either one corticosteroid injection or two corticosteroid injections, in order to determine the optimal number of injections needed to treat this condition effectively. Following assessments over a 1 year period, results indicated that one and two injections both provided similar relief from symptoms. However, it was noted at one year that patients who received two injections had a significantly higher rate of surgery than patients who received one injection.
