Direct Anterior Hip Yields Faster Voluntary Cessation of All Walking Aids in a Randomized Trial

54 patients were randomly allocated to receive a direct anterior or mini-incision posterior approach to total hip arthroplasty (THA), to determine if there were differences in time to ambulation between the two techniques. Results indicated that time to ambulation without any assistive device was significantly improved with direct anterior total hip arthoplasty.
