2013 AAOS Annual Meeting: Rehabilitation Following Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair: A Prospective, Randomized Trial

OE Journal. 2013;1(3):60123 patients with a full thickness superior rotator cuff tear who underwent an arthroscopic double row rotator cuff repair were randomized to two rehabilitation programs to study their effect on healing rates and clinical outcomes. Group 1 involved early passive motion and group 2 had immobilization for the first 6 weeks. After 18 months, both groups did not differ in visual analog scale (VAS) pain, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Score, Constant scores, or shoulder integrity and strength.
