Topical Versus Intravenous Tranexamic Acid in Total Hip Arthroplasty: A Double-Blind, Randomized Controlled Trial

60 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty were randomized to receive intravenous or topical tranexamic acid to compare the efficacy of preparations on postoperative blood loss and transfusion rates. Results indicated blood loss, change in hemoglobin levels, transfusion rates, and thromboembolic events did not differ significantly between groups.
