AAOS 2016: Oral and IV TXA demonstrate equivalent efficacy for blood loss in THA .
Oral and Intravenous Tranexamic Acid are Equivalent at Reducing Blood Loss Following Total Hip Arthroplasty
83 patients scheduled to undergo total hip arthroplasty were randomized to oral or intravenous tranexamic acid. The purpose of this study was to compare hemoglobin drop and total blood loss between groups to determine if these to methods of administration were equivalent.
