Arthroscopic Capsular Release versus Manipulation under Anesthesia in the Management of Adhesive Capsulitis
53 patients (60 shoulders) with adhesive capsulitis were included in this study. Patients were randomized to treatment with either an arthroscopic release procedure or manipulation under general anesthesia. The study was conducted in an effort to determine which of the two procedures yielded optimal outcomes. The findings from this trial indicated largely comparable pain and function outcomes between arthroscopic release and manipulation under anesthesia and were unable to determine which treatment was more effective.
