2024 AAHKS Annual Meeting: Complication Incidence Rates with CT-Guided Robotic-Arm Assisted Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty

Thirty-seven studies including patients undergoing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty were analyzed in this systematic review and meta-analysis comparing rUKA versus mUKA. Outcomes of interest included intraoperative, perioperative, and postoperative complications, along with revision rates and prosthesis loosening. The pooled results showed significantly lower overall complications in the rUKA group (OR=1.90, p<0.00001), with fewer periprosthetic fractures and revision rates. However, prosthesis loosening was more common in rUKA (OR=2.46, p=0.0008). The findings suggest that rUKA offers a safer complication profile but highlights variability between robotic systems, underscoring the need for further system-specific studies.
