A Lifestyle Modification Intervention Program On Bone Mineral Density in Postmenopausal Women .
Effect of Lifestyle Modification Intervention Programme on Bone Mineral Density among Postmenopausal Women with Osteoporosis.
Sultan Qaboos Univ Med J . 2023 Aug;23(3):387-393.120 menopausal osteoporotic women were randomized to receive either a lifestyle modification intervention program (LMIP; n=60) or standard of care (n=60). The primary outcome of interest was Bone Mineral Density (BMD), assessed using a portable ultrasound densitometer. The study revealed a significant increase in BMD among participants in the LMIP group, with median BMD scores improving from -2.2 to -1.5, compared to the control group, which showed a change from -2.3 to -2.0. This improvement was statistically significant, indicating the effectiveness of lifestyle modification alongside pharmacotherapy in enhancing bone health in postmenopausal women with osteoporosis.
