2016 AAOS Annual Meeting: Patient-Specific Instrumentation in Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Meta-Analysis of Alignment and Outcomes

OE Journal. 2016;4(6):1520 randomized controlled trials investigating the use of patient-specific instrumentation versus conventional instrumentation in total knee arthroplasty were included in this meta-analysis. Pooled results demonstrated a significantly higher incidence of tibial malalignment (outlier exceeding 3 degrees deviation from the planned alignment) in the coronal plane compared to conventional instrumentation. No significant differences in the incidence of outliers in any other radigraphic measure were observed between PSI and conventional instrumentation.
