2013 8th International Congress of the Chinese Orthopaedic Association : Individualized health education for improving the quality of life of patients with knee joint after replacement

58 patients who were scheduled to receive knee replacement surgery were randomly placed into 1 of 2 groups to test the effect of personalized health education on quality of life following knee joint replacement surgery. Patients were placed in either a control group (conventional care and education following surgery) or an experimental group (personalized health education following surgery). The results of the study indicated that personalized health education significantly improves physical, psychological, and social function following surgery, all of which play a significant role in quality of life.
