2013 NZOA Annual Scientific Meeting: Does computer assisted total knee arthroplasty improve the overall component position and patient function?

37 patients who were undergoing bilateral total knee arthroplasty participated in this randomized trial to compare jig-assisted and computer-navigation techniques in terms of alignment/positioning and functional outcomes. Patients were assessed over a five year period, postoperatively. CT assessment of alignment found no differences between the two techniques. Additionally, function improved in both knees; however, there were no differences between techniques.
