Can Vitamin C Prevent Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in Patients with Wrist Fractures?: A Randomized, Controlled, Multicenter Dose-Response Study
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2007 Jul;89(7):1424-31416 patients with wrist fracture (427 fractures) were randomized to receive treatment of Vitamin C (either 200, 500 or 1500mg daily) or a placebo. The results indicated that the use of Vitamin C with a daily dose of 500mg for 50 days after a wrist fracture, was the most successful in preventing the development of complex regional pain syndrome.
