Mini-midvastus versus mini-medial parapatellar approach in total knee arthroplasty: a prospective, randomized study

Epub 2012 Dec 1189 patients were randomized to receive total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using either a mini-midvastus or mini-medial parapatellar approach to compare their short-term clinical and radiological outcomes. The assessment at 6 months indicated that there were no significant differences in radiological or clinical (except for tourniquet time, which was greater with the mini-midvastus approach) outcomes between the two techniques.
