One- or two-stage bilateral total hip arthroplasty: a prospective, randomised, controlled study in an Asian population.

168 Asian patients undergoing bilateral total hip arthroplasty were randomised to proceed with the surgical procedure using the one- or two-stage method. The primary outcomes were based on clinical and radiological results. The findings indicated that the one-stage method is considered safe and has comparable rates of complications as the two-stage method. The one-stage method also resulted in shorter hospital stay times, which may be a more economical option.
