Effects of Kinesio Taping on Neck Pain: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials.

This systematic review and meta-analysis included 10 studies with 620 patients suffering from neck pain. It compared the effects of Kinesio taping (KT) to conventional treatments or sham interventions. The pooled outcomes of interest were pain intensity (measured by VAS or NPRS) and disability (measured by NDI). KT significantly reduced pain intensity (WMD = -0.897, 95% CI -1.30 to -0.49, P < 0.001) and improved disability scores for nonspecific neck pain (SMD = -0.423, 95% CI -0.71 to -0.13, P = 0.005). These findings suggest that KT is an effective non-pharmacological intervention for managing neck pain, particularly for nonspecific and mechanical types, over a 4-week period.
