Prospective Randomized Clinical Trial of Arthroscopic Repair Versus Debridement for Partial Subscapularis Tendon Tears More Than Half of the Entire First Facet.

研究概要

80 patients with subscapular (SSC) tears were randomized to receive either arthroscopic repair (n=40) or debridement (n=40). Outcomes of interest included pain on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS), functional VAS scores, Constant-Murley, range of motion, American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons (ASES) at 6 months, 1, 2, and 5 years. Subscalularis muscle strength was assessed at 1, 2, and 5 years, postoperatively. Radiological outcomes such as Goutallier grading, upper and lower muscle atrophy were also assessed at 6 months and 2 years. Range of motion (external rotation) at 1 year and muscle strength at 5 years were significantly better in the debridement group and repair group, respectively. All other outcomes at all time points were similar.
