Oral Ketorolac as an Adjuvant Agent for Postoperative Pain Control After Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff Repair: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Study

Forty three patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were randomized to receive ketorolac (n=23) or control (n=20) in addition to standard postoperative analgesia. The outcomes of interest were postoperative pain control, opioid consumption, functional outcomes, adverse events and retear rates. The ketorolac group consumed significantly fewer narcotic pills and required less narcotic prescription refills. There was no difference is postoperative pain control, functional outcomes, adverse events or retear rates.
