Uncemented Arthroplasty in the Treatment of Hip Fractures: Too much risk, and too little reward

Femoral neck fractures in older adults present a critical decision point between internal fixation and arthroplasty. This article explores current evidence comparing these strategies, highlighting the benefits and trade-offs of each. Special attention is given to the ongoing debate between cemented and uncemented arthroplasty, examining short-term risks versus long-term outcomes. The discussion provides a framework for optimizing surgical decision-making in this high-risk population.
